2 months later

and we're back! It feels like it's been forever since we've last posted. While our Facebook has been fairly active with our thoughts, reads, and music, we have been fairly MIA the past few weeks here on the meré.

Travel and exploration was the theme for both of our summers. While trekking through three continents (on a total of 16 flights!), we each explored our own interests, passions, and the beauty of the world beyond the narrow confines of our home and college-towns. Delving into cities and countries so rich in history, culture, art, language, and food was incredibly exciting, and we wish we could have videotaped it all so that we could share it with you.

While these photos certainly don't do these places justice, here are just a glimpse of the people, food, and sights we experienced this summer in Greece, Mongolia, London, and China:

Something on our minds, while getting re-adjusted to school, is the Half the Sky documentary by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl Wudunn. Based on their best-selling novel, the documentary aired on PBS the past two nights. After meeting Sheryl Wudunn herself and crying through the two-part documentary, we are so inspired by their working- inspiring and enabling girls and women to become agents of change. Our favorite quote comes from a scene in Vietnam, as Gabrielle Union encourages a young girl to pursue education:

"You know what lasts longer than beauty? Being smart."

What have you all been up to this summer? We'd love to know!

Excited to be back,
the meré
