If this sounds like the ideal philosophy for a designer and clothing line, then honest by is for you. Honest By, launched only this January, features (or hopes to feature) designers who collaborate with them to produce year-round, sustainable, and eco-friendly clothing. Sound familiar? It might, but there are two things that set this collaboration project apart. 

First, the company promises 100% transparency- from raw materials, to production, to sales. The consumer can see each and every part of the production process. Second, 20% of the profit goes to the charity of the designer collaborator, and the remaining 80% goes to the upkeeping of the organization's high-reaching goals.

The online store opens with an element of intrigue-- a prompt for the viewer to choose a color for the background with which one can view the website. I think it has a lot to do with stimulating our power, as consumers, of choice. This brings to light a very important aspect of fashion- we, the consumers, can choose to invest in products and events that not only support fashion as an art, but the world as a community and environment.

Starting with a purchase (or rather, given the price points, investment) in a piece from Honest by Bruno Pieters seems like a great start. I can only lust for the terrific textures and fabrics that Bruno Pieters mixes in with dark neutrals-- for me, a match made in heaven. Here are some of my favorites:
